  • Lovely day, cold but clear. Took two star sights. Land ho Falkland Islands, very low 2 points starboard bow. Tacked because of proximity of Falklands tonight. The glow of squid boats to the north – many of them.

  • At noon discovered self steering servo rudder had undone or broken its bolt & there was no rudder! So fitted new servo rudder, I need to replace the steering chains on the tiller soon. Will give it all a good service in warmer waters.
